Christmas Orbs

When it comes to the holidays, there is nothing else I love more than spending time with my family and decorating the house. All the glitter, holiday colors, and of course the Ornaments--little orbs of holiday spirit. I took this following picture with a black back drop from a portrait fundraiser photo shoot I did last weekend, and this photo inspired a few more at home.

Oh, and the holiday ribbon too.

So, I had sadly cracked my LCD screen on my camera, thus leading to my lack of posts this week. But I will make do with some older pictures that I have. Here are a series of architectural photos from Las Vegas.

Mama Mia.

I know, it sounds cliche enough to say that my mother is the best cook. But I truly believe it, there is nothing like my mothers cooking. She wouldn't let you leave the house without eating breakfast, and by the time its supper, she always has a fantastic meal ready. This is the one thing I know I will always love. Take a look for yourself--One grade A steak with caramelized onions and mushrooms paired with a side of homemade potatoes and a gooey delightful slice of pie with vanilla ice cream.

December Frosts.

Every morning that I walk up to my old 1994 Nissan Sentra, there has been a good thick layer of frost. Sure, its a pain to get it off, and its freezing cold, but these little ice crystals are actually quite beautiful--each unique, and never duplicated. So why not take a picture?

And because of this frost, my doggies have been sleeping inside instead of our garage. Ladies and gents, meet Scooter.

Breezes

So today I stayed home terribly sick with some kind of flu. I literally rolled out of bed and landed on my floor, in doing so, I happened to find one of my memory sticks that I thought I lost a few weeks ago, and with it, were some photos from half moon bay.

Tiara.

This is the tiara from my quince, a few years ago. I pulled it out to clean it, and decided to take a few shots. My great-grandmother purchased this for me. I plan on keeping it in the family as an heirloom, to pass on to my daughter and my daughter's daughter. I wore this on a very special day for me, and it holds many great memories and stories. Though it may sound a bit cliche, I believe it's something important and that every woman should have something to pass down to the next generation.

Black and White self portraits.

More on the-sixth-official.blogspot.com , it's my co-owned blog.

Skylines.

It's crazy how beautiful the bay area really is. And we often tend to take our scenery for granted. So maybe one day, stop and look at your surroundings, maybe you'll find some sort of beauty even in the most ugliest places. These two shots were only a few blocks away from my house, it was just a quick walk up the hill.

And going through my camera, I saw this shot I took in Las Vegas during September after a desert lighting storm. Behind the glitz and glamour that the Strip holds, just a mile down, you can catch one of the most beautiful and majestic sunsets around.
