New purchases and ID

This weekend was a whirlwind of fun things. I attended Identity Fest on Friday--and let me tell you, it was one of the best nights I've had in while. I also got to get some thrifting in, and new shoes!

Here are just a few quick pre-concert shots. I went to ID with some of my closest friends, Daisy, Gurr(from thesixthofficial.com) and Guia. I swear, we've been planning these outfits for weeks. Haha, I honestly get so excited for any chance I get to dress up.

This is Daisy, being sexy, making rave bracelets.

Along with some of the finish products. Kudos to Gurr and Guia for picking these beads.

Now THIS, is now one of my favorite photos of the four of us, ever. Look at Gurr's hair, in my opinion, she rocks the best Ombre hair around--Haven't seen any hair like it. Guia is always adorable. And for Daisy, she's glowing because she has a bracelet on with Pharrell's name on it.

As for this weekends haul, I finally bought myself of Jeffrey Campbell Litas! Ordered from Nasty Gal--which I must say, had the fastest free shipping yet.

Just the classic black leather, I love them so much already. They are extremely comfortable and the quality of these shoes are impeccable.

I also did a quick trip to the thrift store. And I found some great fall pieces (which I'm hoping to later style on a later shoot)

Oh! And I finally got a pair of leather loafers! These things are great for a quick go-to shoe. Made with Brazilian Leather.

And a few notebooks for school. Classes start next week!

New Interview

For the full photo shoot and interview!

Jane Kim, and Thrifting

I know, I keep apologizing for not blogging as much, because I have work! Well, now I finally have my new camera and I got to take it for a spin with the amazing and talented, Jane Sun Kim! She has a wonderful online boutique, we did breakfast and an interview with a photo shoot this morning. We also make a quick thrifting run! I'll be posting the interview with her, a long with the shots later tonight.

My usual food from starbucks, Iced Coffee and  a bagel with cream-cheese. I don't go all fancy with things like a skimmed soy latte or whatever. Keeping it simple.

Alright, So here are a few sneak peak shots of Jane, shes wearing a leotard from American Apparel. I actually own the same one, and I love it! The deep scoop back is perfect for showing skin without showing too much.

We actually met a few horse riders on our shoot. This guy's name is Chief.

So after the shoot, we went to "Thrift central" a store, that was not too far by. They actually had tons of brand name stuff for super cheap. All thrift stores should be like that.

Jane bought a long velvet dress, and a sheer silver maxi dress. We didn't spend more than 25 bucks!

They had a great bin full of corsets and Bralets! Each of these were less than two dollars.

Here is my haul:

A lace onesie corset. Perfect for layering!
A Vintage velvet hoodie, can't wait until fall!
Jane actually found this Lacoste mint sweatshirt but I ended up buying it, can you believe it was only 5 bucks?!

Eddie Bauer high waisted pants, that I made into cut offs.

And another sheer corset!

Summing up my weekend.

Sorry that I haven't posted in almost a week! I've been working so, so much. Even Saturday! So I guess Sunday and Monday is my weekend. And I will be working long hours again this week. But First thing, I am receiving my canon Mark II 5d on Thursday! So get ready for some awesome photos and videos. I've been getting tons of requests by followers and friends to start making videos! and trust me, I've been thinking of doing it as well, blogging can only go so far when I want to show you guys things.

Anyways, this is my weekend.

Shopping with my close friends on Sunday, including The Sixth blogger, Gurpreet. They are all bad influences in the best way possible, haha. They had convinced me to finally buy a pair of American Apparel Disco shorts(I LOVE THEM SO MUCH.) that I have been debating over for months, I thank them for that. I also finally bought a pair of pastel jeans, not the color I wanted, but pink is cute. Plus a neon shirt for an event later this month.

And as for today, Sunday, I spent it in the city with my family. I had won several museum tickets from a photography award I won that was held in the Asian Art museum, so we finally used a pair at the Academy of sciences. I finally(after it being lost for months) wore an almost-gold rose chain and bracelet with a simple black pullover.

Ugh, can my parents get any cuter?! They have been together since my mom was 15 and still today they act like young lovers. Hell, they are young! It's great to see this everyday, I am so blessed and thankful to have parents like mine.

I love this area of the city, especially the court yard between the Academy of sciences and the De young museum. I'm currently arranging a photo shoot in this area with a client, can't wait!
And to top it all of, Mitchells Ice Cream. This beats Fentons creamery, Coldstone and everything else. Its on 29th and San Jose in the city. You must try their flavors like "Grasshopper pie" or "Halo Halo" ice creams. (and yes, HaloHalo flavor icecream!) I stop here nearly every time that I am in the City.

Its a wrap!

That's it! July is over, and it's the peak of 2012. These are my monthly favorite items, and I'll link where you can get them or something similar! Enjoy.

Three things I truly care about for my everyday cosmetic routine--Lips, Eyes and Hair.

I love wearing berry or wine colored lipsticks, or even just a stain, but my favorite for this month is Revlons Colorstay lip stick. This one featured here is Stay Currant. Of all the 24-hour drugstore brand lipsticks, this one has won my vote as the best. You can eat, drink, or kiss without this rubbing off. Find this product at your local drugstore.

Eyeliner, I love eyeliner. It's always the most important part for eye makeup, the finishing touch to any look. I didn't want to spend much on an eyeliner (I've tried expensive brands) and so far, Loreals' Infallible gel eyeliner in Blackest Black has yet to upset me. This gel eyeliner lasts forever. This, you can also find at your local drugstore.

Hair, hair, hair--That's my trade mark. I have extremely thick and voluminous hair, a combination of my Salvadorian and Filipino heritage. But I really do not like to wash my hair everyday(and you really shouldn't). Your hair needs its natural oils. However, sometimes those oils need a bit of balance. So I highly recommend Lush's dry shampoo. Its a loose powder with a wonderful grapefruit scent that you pat in your hair. I know I just bought this product a few days ago, but I am truly impressed. Find this at a Lush store or on http://www.lushusa.com and much, much more!

I love doing masks! And I think it's even more fun when you make your own. This is a recipe for a honey green tea oatmeal mask that I found, and tweaked to my own. (and it's organic) Oatmeal reduces inflammation and redness, green tea revitalizes and replenishes, and honey tightens pores.
-1/2 cup of plain Oatmeal
-1/4 cup of hot brewed green tea
-2 teaspoons of honey
mix all of these together in a small bowl to make a warm paste(it should be warm, the heat opens your pores). Cut open the green tea bag and mix the used loose leaves in the paste as well. Apply on face, and wash off after ten minutes.

As for accessories, I've been using these two vintage finds this month a bit more. These over-sized butterfly glasses and gold chain rosary necklace. You can find similar glasses Here. And a similar necklace Here.

It's Summer, so I'm not going anywhere too fancy. These are my play shoes, classic high top Chuck Taylors. As much as I love, love my wedges or heels, nothing beats my childhood shoes. These can go with anything, and you can get a bit dirty. My great grandpa used to call them "Boy shoes", he was born in 1922, girls didn't wear these kind of shoes when he was growing up. Find them here.

My over worn clothes this month are my vintage velvet shirt and my black plain shorts. I don't always wear them together, but I find them to be essential basics to my outfits. You can find a similar velvet shirt here at American Apparel. These shorts are a steal at Forever 21--every girl needs a good pair of black cotton shorts for summer.

My favorite bag at the moment is my Fossil Messenger Bag! I love this bag for work, interning and travel. It has so many pockets, and places to stick things. It's just an ideal stuff-everything-in-it bag. I believe everyone needs a bag like this.

And my last favorite, are my chicks! I got four new baby chickens last month, and they are growing so fast. I love chickens. To eat, and for pets. (Wingstop is amazing). Don't get me wrong though, I would never eat my pet. Haha.
